Pizza Dough
This is a simple and flexible recipe for basic pizza dough
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- ¾ cup water, warm (between 100°-120°F)
- 1 packet Active Dry Yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Method
- Add the water, sugar, and yeast to the bowl of a stand mixer (or a large mixing bowl if you’re mixing by hand), stir briefly, and then let rest for 10 minutes until yeast is foamy.
- Add the flour and salt and mix well, until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl and is smooth and elastic. The surface of the dough should be slightly tacky, like the back of a Post-It note.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and allow to rise for at least one hour, and up to several hours, punching the dough down after every 2 hours.
- Tear off a baseball-sized piece of dough and roll into a circle on a well-floured surface, add sauce and toppings of choice, and bake as desired.
